The Bog trail has a tower that looks out over the bog. We walked the boardwalk over the bog to a wildlife observation deck.
[Bogs, which comprise 21% of the park’s total area, build up layer upon layer of sphagnum moss and small shrubs to form a living sponge. The 5 meters of condensed layers of Kelly’s Bog over the years have become peat.]

Lady Slipper

Rhododendron
Pitcher Plant. Notice the spiny bristles on the inside of its mouth - they are pointed downward so that it's easy for something to walk in, but dangerous and prickly for it to try and get out. The greenish liquid at the bottom is what the plant uses to drown and digest its prey.
