As Teri and I enjoyed a sunny 70 degree day here in the park, we heard a familiar sound overhead. We looked up to see a large group of Sandhill Cranes circling over the lake. They seemed to be undecided about sitting down for the evening or continuing their journey north.

With the warmer weather, the change to daylight savings time, and Spring Break getting underway, we realize that we are just a few short weeks from moving north ourselves.
We are looking forward to a summer at Farrugut State Park, just north of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. So stay tuned for more details on that...

Yes, we were finally able to get out too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful part of the country you are migrating to!
ReplyDeleteVisit nearby Wallace, Idaho while you are north. Tour a silver mine and take a photo at the center of the universe.

Sounds interesting. Center of the Universe, eh? I'll sure there is a story there!
DeleteYep but you will need to go to find out for yourself. Also plan to attend a melodrama performance there. You get to boo the villian and cheer the good guys.
DeleteThat sounds like an interesting area. I look forward to reading your posts.

I love hearing the cranes go over... kind of a sound that brings back memories that you know aren't even yours... but from an age way before your time. I'm thinking we spent some time up there in Idaho... isn't that close to Koutenai NWR? It's been so long I can't remember how to spell it.
ReplyDeleteWe'll be no more than 30 miles from there. We certainly plan to visit all of the NWR's in the area.
DeleteWe spent some time at Idyll Acres rv park...a little mom and pop park in their yard...wonderful memories of the year we went on north to Banff National Park.
