With predictions of 50-100,000 people coming into the area, we were happy to get out of Oregon and get a little farther from the path of totality.
Unfortunately, during the move, I inadvertently threw away our free solar glasses! We had to look at the eclipse the old fashion way - pinhole.
Even with 92 percent coverage, we couldn't tell any difference in the light of day. The animals didn't start acting weird.
We survived Eclipse 2017.
Some folks posted on the FB to be sure to keep pets indoors, so they don't suffer eye damage. Pretty funny. I Ann looking around for the blind deer and moose who didn't know any better.
ReplyDeleteAre you leaving Oregon now? Where are you headed?
Virginia
Poor animals. Don't know any better!! We did slide on out of Oregon and are slowly drifting back toward Texas, where an Oral Surgeon awaits...
DeleteYuck 😒
DeleteAt 99.5 Totality we had a definite dimming and saw a few stars. The street lights came on but it was a weird light, not like dawn or dusk. Pretty cool here in Boise! Elko didn't care....he was outside with us but slept through it.
ReplyDeleteI wonder where we'll be the next time? 2024.
DeleteWe instructed Elko to not look directly at the sun, so he didn't 😁.
ReplyDeleteHe's such a good boy!
