After spending quite some time looking at all the
displays, we headed to the bottling factory.
This is a very small operation that is slowed down to make it easier to
see what is happening. My pictures are just a
sample of some of the steps in the process of bottling Coke.
The Empty Bottle Inspector takes a picture of every bottle
to examine its interior for defects. Any
bottle not meeting quality standards is rejected. Once bottles have passed initial inspection,
they move on to be rinsed.
Bottles are scanned for cracks.
The secret formula is used to make a special concentrate,
which is then mixed with sweetener and water to make Coca-Cola Syrup.
This tank stores up to 1,000 gallons of syrup, enough to
make approximately 104,000 8-ounce bottles of Coca-Cola.
Syrup and water are mixed together in the blender then
carbon dioxide is added to provide the “fizz”.
The Blender
20 bottles are filled every minute making it easier to
observe the process. Some plants bottle
2,200 cans a minute.
Filling the bottles.
The Robot uploads empty bottles and puts them into production to be filled. It also stacks the
filled bottles as they come off the line.

Throughout the day bottles of Coke are randomly selected
and tested in the Quality Assurance Lab.
It is finally time to enter the Vault!
The door before the Vault door.
Being on the VIP Tour we are taken to the beginning of
the line. We go through the big “outer" vault
door.
We walk by many walls with lots of interesting
information.
THE VAULT
Behind this door is the only known written recipe for the
syrup used to make Coca-Cola.
We didn’t actually get to see the recipe but we were
assured it was there.
After the Vault we saw more advertising and learned some
more things about the Coke company.
This was the end of our VIP Tour. We were each given a pin and our lanyards
were ours to keep.
We handed our head-sets back to our guide and headed to
the tasting stations. Over 150 different
beverages can be tasted.
As you can imagine - this floor is STICKY!! Lots of kids and lots of spilled beverages.
Some of the flavors were very good and some, not so much.
Our last stop, the store.
I didn’t cover everything World of Coke has to
offer. There is a lot to do here!
This tour is magnet worthy.
I enjoyed these posts. Thanks for taking the time to bring us along.
