We headed out to the South Padre Island World Birding Center.
They have a three month membership fee ($30, each) so we wanted to join immediately. We spent the whole morning walking the boardwalks. It’s great to be back down at the coast!
The birding center is on 50 acres at the southern tip of the world’s longest barrier island. There is a really nice boardwalk along with seven bird blinds and a five story tower that looks out over the Laguna Madre.
We saw over 40 different birds just walking along the boardwalk!
Long-billed Curlew
One of my favorites!
Greater Yellowlegs
Great Blue Heron
Dunlin
Common Moorhen
Caspian Tern
Brown Pelicans
Black-bellied Plover
American Wigeon
Clapper Rail
This isn't the end - I'll have more pictures from South Padre soon!

Back to birding again. Seems like all you have to do is take a stroll along the ocean to see as many as you want! Perrrrrfect!
