We've left Central Texas and are heading for our summer "job" in Colorado. We will take a couple of weeks to make our way north and plan to visit a few new parks on the way. We chose Abilene State for our first stop. This area of West Texas can be pretty stark so we were pleasantly surprised to find a nicely shaded campground.
There are several Civilian Conservation Corp structures here in the park, including the pool house and viewing tower.

Our next stop will be Palo Duro State Park, also known as "The Grand Canyon of Texas".
Stay tuned...
That really does look like a nice park for the area. :)
ReplyDeleteBoy your new fifth wheel sure looks big! How do you like it so far?
ReplyDeleteHi Penny-
ReplyDeleteWe are enjoying the new trailer a lot. It is longer and heavier to tow, but so much nicer once it is set up. It is listed as a 33' long model, but is really just shy of 35'. I don't think that I'd want to go any longer!!
